Past projects funded by Austin bonds

Intelligent Transportation Bonds

In 2016, Austin passed a major funding bill to improve transportation all over the city. The $720 million bond went to fixing major city streets and highways, but also to repairing and building new sidewalks, creating new walking trails, and improving the biking system throughout the city.

Mexic-Arte Museum

Austin's Mexic-Arte Museum is a celebration of artists from the United States, Mexico, and Latin America. After being established in 1984, it has slowly become an increasingly big part of Austin's downtown landscape. Bond funding allowed the museum to expand, and more recent efforts are creating an architecturally unique location that will serve as a city landmark.

Vic Mathias Shores Trailhead

Formerly known as Auditorium Shores, the Vic Mathias Shores got a total renovation and upgrade between 2011-2014 as a result of bond funding. Upgrades included everything from renovated restroom facilities, to widening and improving the trails, to restoring the shoreline itself.
