Past projects funded by higher education bonds
UCLA recently opened a state-of-the-art center for engineering research and education, funded in part by bonds. The building will serve as an anchor for innovation, housing labs for green engineering and nanotechnology research.
Sustainability Investments at Campuses and Medical Centers
The University of Virginia (UVA) included $97 million of "green bonds" in recent bond issuances to provide long-term financing for environmentally-sustainable projects. The projects promoted sustainability and innovation by designing for energy and water efficiency, and prioritizing construction with materials that are sustainable and promote healthy indoor air.
Community College Facilities
One of the largest community college district in the United States, the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) serves approximately 200,000 students annually, preparing students to succeed and contribute in the 21st century economy. Bond financed investments include: new and renovated academic buildings and laboratories, renewable energy initiatives, arts complexes and access to local job training.
