My name is Catherine, and I am pleased to join the Neighborly team as VP of People.

I grew up in the Bay area, lived a short stint in Los Angeles to attend UCLA, and returned to get my Master’s in Education from Stanford. In LA, I began my career working with students, teachers, administrators, and community based organizations to improve matriculation rates for underrepresented communities into higher education. After grad school, I became the Executive Director of a local non-profit in SF that built and supported schools anchored in social justice.

After spending 8 years in education, I stumbled into tech and fell in love with the startup lifestyle of high velocity and innovation. I’ve held roles in customer success and recruiting but found my passion in working with internal customers -- the employees! It’s a great honor for me to fuse my passion for building amazing organizations with the incredible work we get to do at Neighborly.

Neighborly blends the impact mission I found early in my career with the forward thinking modus operandi of the tech world. We’re leveraging technology to create direct access to muni bonds for any investor, regardless of income, and empowering people to direct their dollars toward world-positive impact investments. Not only will that result in better outcomes for individuals and the community-at-large, but it is also just plain awesome.

And our company is a place where culture matters! We hire mission-driven individuals that are hungry, humble, and curious. With the combination of our technology and the brilliant humans building it at Neighborly, we get to do the best work of our lives, contribute to social good, and have a ton of fun while we do it.
